Special Initiatives

NASBHC is dedicated to ensuring that children and adolescents are healthy and achieving at their fullest potential, and has provided several special initiative topics to further assist schools and providers in achieving this vision.

Emergency Preparedness: Links to agencies that can help develop an emergency preparedness plan that range from individual tragedy to large scale human disasters.

Federal Grants: Information on the School-Based Health Center Capital Grant and other school-based health center specific grants.

Military Families: Tools, resources, and information for st school-based health center (SBHC) personnel to better address the needs of children of “suddenly military” families.

Multiculturalism: Resources on how to incorporate multiculturalism into a SBHC, and how centers can develop culturally competent care for students.

NHSC/AmeriCorps: Information on programs that promote health care for America’s underserved communities in places like SBHCs.
