Evaluation

Evaluation can be a powerful method of telling an SBHC’s story or “making its case” to key stakeholders, funders, and sponsoring organizations. An evaluation is often the basis for knowing “where you are” and leads to the answer of “where do we want to go and how do we get there?”

Information gathered from an evaluation can be used to:

  • Identify a starting point for improvement initiatives.
  • Report on your work to the SBHC’s advisory board, school board, or community.
  • Display accomplishments to your sponsoring organization.
  • Make the SBHC’s case to funders.
  • Provide information for grant reports.
  • Raise awareness of the SBHCs services within the school.
  • Inform practice and policy decisions.
  • Contribute to the scientific base for community public health interventions.
