National SBHC Convention Youth Track

Maryland youth with Representative Sarbanes at Advocacy Day during the 2010 Convention

The Youth Track at NASBHC’s annual convention is an opportunity for high school students to learn about the health and policy issues associated with school-based health centers (SBHCs), while also developing their own leadership and advocacy skills.

While at the convention, the youth team will be able to meet with champions in the SBHC field, participate in skill and knowledge building workshops, and develop a plan and beginning agenda for a national youth board.

Students who are interested in attending must submit an application with their parent or guardian’s permission.

Students between 14 and 18 years must have a chaperone present at the convention. Please see the 'For Chaperones' section below for more information.

Scavenger Hunt

This year students will be able to compete in an on-line scavenger hunt for the opportunity to have their name entered into a raffle for the Youth Track Award. All awardees will receive a registration waiver (valued at $295) to attend the convention. In addition, three lucky students will also receive one paid night at the Hyatt Regency during the Convention. Scorecards are due Friday, April 20 at 8 p.m. ET
