Awareness Month Story Contest

National School-Based Health Care Awareness Month is finally here! This year, NASBHC is holding a contest to help share your stories, with a chance to win cash prizes!

We're looking for stories from students, patients, parents, practitioners, educators, advocates, policy makers, sponsors, or anyone else that illustrates the impact school-based health care has on individuals, schools, and communities. Examples of stories could be:

  • how your school-based health center helped a student.
  • how your school-based health center has changed your community.
  • why you believe in school-based health care.
  • how school-based health centers save money.
  • how school-based health centers help students stay in school.
  • a story about how you successfully advocated for policy change in your community to help a school-based health center.
  • or any other story you can think of - view examples of member stories here!

Submit your school-based health center story  - either a written narrative or a video - for a chance to win a cash prize! We will collect stories from January 3rd until February 20th, and feature them on our website and social media platforms throughout Awareness Month. Everyone who submits a story will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win $100!

Beginning February 27th, we will hold polls on our website for voters to determine their favorite stories in the following categories:

  • Favorite Written Narrative
  • Favorite Video
  • Favorite Youth Story

Throughout the week, voters will choose their favorite story from each category. Winners in each category will receive $200! This is a great opportunity to get exposure for your work and the school-based health care movement, as well as a chance to win some great prizes, so submit today!

To submit, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Narrative should be no longer than 750 words
  • Narratives should include no identifying information
  • Attach narratives in either Word or PDF formats and email them to awarenessmonth@nasbhc.org
  • Videos should be no longer than 3 minutes
  • Upload videos to your YouTube page and email a link to awarenessmonth@nasbhc.org
  • All entries must include a signed consent form (sign the consent form here - entries submitted by those under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the consent form)
