Expanded Medical Capacity Funding Opportunity
HRSA has issued an Expanded Medical Capacity guidance (HRSA 08-078) projecting $50 million for 85 awards. The deadline for submission is February 1, 2008. The annual budget request cap is $600,000. This funding is for expanding primary medical care services and is not for focusing on initiating or expanding oral health or behavioral health programs. Applicants can also use this opportunity to initiate services to a new target population and therefore to request new Section 330 funding streams. For example, a grantee receiving 330(e) money could apply to serve homeless people and request 330(h) funding for the first time through the EMC.
