2008 National School-Based
Health Care Convention

The 2008 convention, co-hosted by the California School Health Centers Association marks the thirteenth convention of the National Assembly on School-Based Health Care. Our convention theme builds on the field's quest to deliver the highest standard of quality health care.

NASBHC is committed to taking action against health inequities.  Sarah Jones, Tony Award® winning actress kicks off the event with her one-woman show tackling health inequities.  The convention also features plenary speakers from diverse backgrounds.  Their presentations will encompass themes of health care disparities among minority populations, including Latinos, African Americans, and Native Americans, and across disciplines - both primary and mental health care.  With over 15 workshops dedicated to taking action against health inequities, an opening plenary featuring clips from a documentary chronicling health care disparties, and activities designed to encourage muliticulturalism, the 2008 National School-Based Health Care Convention is sure to be the best yet!

Join us for first-rate interdisciplinary professional education and networking with school-based health center colleagues from across the country.

Please e-mail or call Deirdre Taylor with any convention related questions (202-638-5872).

Bringing Youth?

We are excited to announce that the 2008 National School-Based Health Care Convention is prepared to host up to 50 national youth leaders!

There will be a unique youth focused programming opportunity for high school aged youth at this year’s convention.  Youth can register for the convention for a reduced fee of $200 and will be able to take part in programs that will help them add their voice to SBHC operations, strengthen their leadership skills, and give them a safe and meaningful place to share their ideas and inspirations.

Please click here for the REQUIRED NASBHC permission forms. Please complete and fax back to Tiffany Clarke at 202-638-5879.

Each state/chaperone entity MUST have their own permission forms. Please click here for an example of a local chaperone form.

If you have any questions, please e-mail Tiffany Clarke or call 202-638-5872.
